Ubuntu 24.04 Install Fails with block-probing Fails

This is the first install that has failed since Ubuntu 5

I have downloaded Ubuntu 24.04 amd x64 onto a USB drive.

Trying ubuntu does boot to a workable desktop with some complaints about a resource error but gets to to the live user.

When I open a terminal and type 'top' I see grub-mount using 91% CPU resource?
Why is this when Im testing?

The install gets so far and fails with
    block-probing failed.

I send a report from live USB install so dont know if its been received
I have 3 sata drives sda, sdb and sdc

Two have a BIOS MBR structure and sdc a gpt partition scheme.
Would it helped If i removed a couple hard drives see if that allows an install?

Have to go to work so I'll get full error message later

Re: Ubuntu 24.04 Install Fails with block-probing Fails

I tried removing hard drives but still the installer in Ubuntu 24.04 fails with a block probing message.
    I probably should have waited.

I did get Ubuntu 24.04 installed, but only from a fresh install of Ubuntu 22.04, then upgrading, first to Mantic23.10 then
    upgrading to 24.04
