The customized computer has only two ports and I tried both of them. No help.
but it could be a port issue. The computer which mounts the drive has an external UBS hub.

Just tried 3 more different computers with the very similar hardware. Two do not show the drive, but one does mount it.
How can I compare the differences? All have the same Ubuntu 22.04 installation.

On Lubuntu 22.04, regular usb keys can be mounted automatically, but an external hardrive can not be mounted. On two other different computers with Lubuntu 22.04, no issues.

Problem solved. It is a cmake issue. All other libraries are set-up with absolute lib path and only this one is done differently
I changed the related file for makefile and solved the problem.

I am able to install hal-info. But I can not run lshal since hal is not installed.

I managed to reduce the size of LVM partition. But I can not see the unused partition I just reduced from the LVM partition in the installation(Installation type: something else).
